Why HVAC Are Now Essential!

Our lives in comparison to pre-pandemic years have certainly changed. We view illnesses through a new set of lenses to understand the implications and impacts they will have on our day-to-day activities at home and work.

In Canada and many other countries in the world, the HVAC service industry was deemed an essential service at the start of the pandemic 27 months or so ago.

This demand has continued, if not increased even more due to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) increasing ventilation mandates and or recommendations set out for indoor spaces, like homes, schools, and workplaces to decrease the spread of COVID-19.

These recommendations placed the industry in a multi-faceted challenge as many buildings, dwellings, schools, and office spaces did not have any mechanisms to easily accommodate changes to the ventilation system(s) in addition to supply shortages, which is still the case today in many older structures.

Many Canadians are more aware that poor ventilation and air circulation can be a contributor to the spread of airborne illnesses, not just COVID-19. In the case of COVID-19, public health has placed great emphasis on the spread through the droplets that we breathe, cough, or sneeze out, being in an enclosed environment increases the risks. The same can be said of other airborne illnesses.

Health Canada recommends that non-residential buildings run the system for a minimum of 2 hours before and after a building is occupied to remove airborne debris, particles, or stale air with cleaner air.

With fall and winter season days away at our doorsteps, combined with a return to school and many employers receiving a large pool of staff working out of their respective office spaces, it is a perfect time to have your Heating, Ventilation assessed and serviced prior to switching over from cooling to heating.

Greensaving Group serves predominantly commercial buildings and residential dwellings and has developed maintenance programs successfully to keep up with the demand. With excellent gratification Greensaving enacted as a contributor in keeping frequently scheduled maintenance, cleaning, and replacing filters with its commercial consumers aiding them with adequate ventilation and air quality.
